The museum is located at 6000 E. Valencia Rd. in Tucson, Arizona, and 5.5 miles east of the Tucson International Airport on the Southeast side of town. From Interstate-10, take exit 267 to Valencia Rd., then turn/go east to the museum entrance (look for the U.S. flag).


The museum is open 7 days a week, from 9:00am to 5:00pm, last admission at 4:00pm. The museum is open every day of the year except Thanksgiving and Christmas days. Parking is free. The museum is a pet-friendly facility (leashes required).

  • 2 Docent-guided Walking Tours:
    • The "Highlights of Aviation" tour starts at the Wright Flyer at 10:30am (and 1:30pm Dec. thru Apr.)
    • The "World War II Aviation" tour starts inside Hangar 3 at 11:30am (and 2:30pm Dec. thru Apr.).

Museum Details

Flight Grill, the highly-rated onsite restaurant, is open daily from 9:30am to 4:30pm. No outside food or beverages (besides water) are allowed in the museum.

Stickers are issued to paying patrons that allow same-day re-entry.

During a paid riding tour, crated pets can stay in a climate-controlled area. Please ask at Admission or in the Museum Store.

The museum offers a Tram Tour of its 80 acres/150 outdoor aircraft. Museum admission is required to take the Tram Tour. $6 per person (including children age 6 & under who are admitted into the museum FREE). No charge for lap children age 2 & under (limit 1 per paying adult).

The museum is the official operator of the "Boneyard"/AMARG bus tour (the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group), that loads at the museum but takes place across Valencia Rd. on the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base on non-federal holiday weekdays only. Museum admission is not required to take the "Boneyard"/AMARG bus tour. $7pp ($4/child 12 & under). A government-issued ID is required for anyone age 16 & over and check-in with ID is mandatory 1 hour before the tour.

Several wagons are available on a first-come basis for children. (Please do not use these for your pets.) We appreciate the wagons be returned to the Main Hangar for the next patrons.

Children (age 15 and younger) must be accompanied by an adult.

No firearms in the museum or the Flight Grill restaurant. Secure storage is available if you are traveling with a weapon. Ask at Admissions or the Museum Store.

Hangar 3, 4 and the Space Gallery close at 4:45pm to allow sufficent time for our visitors to reach the exit at 5:00pm. We appreciate your coooperation.
