Cool off with a presentation covering aviation in early US Antarctic expeditions, concentrating on Operation DEEP FREEZE from 1955 to present, including Navy, Coast Guard, Army, Air Force and civilian efforts. Bruce De Wald wintered over at McMurdo Station, Antarctica, in Operation DEEP FREEZE in 1963 & 1966 and summered over in DEEP FREEZE 1972-73 & 1973-74. He was a Special Air Crew (Weather/Ice Observer) for almost 3 years during his winters and summers and has kept current on aviation in Antarctica. Mr. De Wald is also a tram docent at the Pima Air & Space Museum.
