New Volunteer Orientation

We hold free orientation sessions at the Pima Air & Space museum every second Saturday of the month. Orientation gives you an overview of the Foundation's volunteer program and how you can participate.
Simply be in the Pima Air & Space Museum admissions area at 9:30am, a staff memeber will meet you there and brief you on the orientation. Please park in the visitor parking lot.
After the orientation briefing, you are encouraged to begin the self-guided portion of your orientation.

Science Saturdays
August 28
10AM - 3:30PM
Learn how Newton's laws of Motion work by building and flying seltzer rockets and balloon rockets.
Children must be at least eight years old and be accompanied by an adult.
Sessions are 1 1/2 hours long and start at 10:00am, 12:00pm, and 2:00pm.
Program free with paid admission. Make reservations by calling 618-4819 or emailing mstafford@pimaair.org.

Night Wings
August 28
5PM - 9PM
Touch 100 Years of Aviation History at night!
Enjoy our almost 300 aircraft in the evening light. On the Saturday May 29th, June 26th, July 24th and August 28th we will be open from 5:00pm-9:00pm (last admission at 8:00pm). There will be Tram rides until sundown, a walking tour of the indoor hangars, hands on activities like folding and flying paper airplanes, tasting space food, building and launching paper air rockets, and many more.
Admission is $10 for adults; Children under 12 are free; members free.

Special Lecture - The Deep Sea Quest for Amelia Earhart

David Jourdan, author of The Deep Sea Quest for Amelia Earhart and other books will be speaking about how his company Nauticos has been using historical facts, technical specifications and scientific research to search for Amelia Earhart's Lockheed Electra.
Come learn how close they may actually be to finding it!
David W. Jourdan, is co-founder and president of Nauticos, a company devoted to the exploration of the deep ocean. Along with finding several sunken ships and submarines has led two deep ocean expeditions in search of Amelia Earhart’s lost Lockheed Electra airplane. He has spoken to military, business, and scientific organizations across the country about his major discoveries and has appeared on the National Geographic Channel, The Discovery Channel, and the Today Show.
This lecture is free with paid admission.

Aviation's For Girls Junior Girl Scout Program
September 25
9AM - 3:30PM
Girls will explore the museum, meet female aviators, learn about aerodynamics and aviation history, and fulfill six of the requirements for the Junior Aerospace Badge. Please bring a bag lunch and wear closed toes comfortable shoes. We will bring water and snacks.
Registration through the Sahuaro Girl Scout Council Website is required. Please Register by September 15th.
Cost: Girls $10.00; troop leaders free; additional adults $11.50 (covers program supplies and snacks)
